The Davis Condos are housed in a building originally constructed in 1909, making it one of the oldest surviving apartment buildings in the city. Designed by local architect Alexander C. Ewart, the structure reflects the timeless charm of early 20th-century design, with classic brickwork, arched entryways, tall ceilings, and elegant interior finishes that speak to a bygone era. You simply don’t find this kind of craftsmanship in newer buildings.
Originally named The Wheeldon Apartments, the building was a part of Portland’s westward expansion in the early 1900s—a period when the city was growing rapidly and multifamily housing became essential to urban living. In the early 2000s, the building was thoughtfully converted into condominiums, with an emphasis on preserving its historic elements while introducing modern amenities. The result?
